The PG Department of Commerce organized a Guest session on ‘Performance Management with Industrial Outlook’ on 5th November 2022. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Durguesh Pai Angle, General Manager at Unichem Laboratories Limited, Pilerne, Goa.
The aim of the session was to provide industrial outlook towards performance review. A total of 49 M.Com students attended the session. Mr. Myron Pereira, Asst. Professor in Commerce welcomed the audience. Mr. Rohit Dessai from M.Com-II introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Durguesh Pai Angle.
Mr. Durguesh Pai Angle commenced the session by giving a brief overview on performance management. He spoke about industrial perspective in evaluating an employee’s performance. He explained the objectives of performance management and how to implement the smart goals to review and improve performance. He briefed about performance appraisal and the guidelines for providing the feedback, talent management and performance potential matrix. He explained differentiated rating system used to evaluate employees and provide them with feedbacks about their performance. He also spoke about steps to be taken to handle the poor performance of the employees.
It was an informative session, as the students learned as well cleared their doubts about performance management and the various aspects of performance review.
The program concluded at 12.40 pm with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Raghunath Prabhu from M.Com-II.
