The Directorate of Higher Education organized a hands-on workshop on October 27th and 28th on ‘Koha 2.0’ software for the College Librarians and Librarians Grade-I and Librarians Grade-II as part of implementation of the IAIMS software. Ms. Manasi Rage, College Librarian, was the Resource Person on the first day of the workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Director of Higher Education, Sir Prasad Lolayekar (IAS). The Director welcomed the gathering and Dr. Mahadev Gawas introduced the Resource Person.
The Content of the workshop on Day One included Circulation Module of Koha 2.0 –Check-In, Check-Out and Renew the books, Circulation Holds, Patron Request, Circulation Transfers from Departmental Libraries to Central Library or vice –versa and Management of Over dues; Offline Circulation functionality- Installation of the Koha App for books Check-outs and Check-Ins, how to download, select and upload the KOC. File in Offline Circulation and How to handle Pending offline circulation actions; Patron Module-to create Patrons in bulk and individually, to add image of the patron and upload bulk images, to edit the Patrons, to change the Password of the Patron, to track the circulation history of the Patrons, to check the Routing Lists of the Patrons, How to set notices and messages to the Patrons, Maintaining Statistical data of the Patrons, How to handle purchase suggestions and How to set restrictions to the patrons; Serial Management Module of Koha 2.0– To create the vendors, to create the Item Records, to define frequencies and other bibliographic details of the Item Records , to receive the subscription after physical arrival of the issues and to manage Test Prediction Pattern and Koha Administration Module
50 participants attended the workshop. All the participants were given hands-on training. The workshop ended with participants’ feedback and queries.
