The Department of Economics & Banking organized a field trip to Letcetra Agri Tech, Valpoi on 18th October 2022 from 8.30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. 24 students accompanied by 2 faculty members attended the field trip. The objective of the field trip was to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities and to show how farming is done with the help of modern technology.
Letcetra Agri Tech is Goa’s first vertical Hydroponic Farm where farming is done with the help of LED lights and ACs. The students were shown Hydroponic use of technology via automatic circulation of water and controlling parameters of temperature, humidity etc. The farm grows exotic vegetables such as various types of lettuce – Romaine lettuce, Lollo Green lettuce and Oakleaf lettuce, Basil, Jalapenos and Cherry Tomato. It also cultivates fish. The founder shared their experience of finance requirements from various banks and financial institutions. He informed the students that they have collaborated with FiiRE and several other associations for assistance in various matters and have expanded their branches to three different units.
