Guest Lecture on “Path to Financial Freedom”

The Department of Economics & Banking organized a Guest Lecture on “Path to Financial Freedom” on 15th October 2022 from 10.15 to 11:15 a.m. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Jason Francis Menezes Gama, Relationship Manager at Milestone Financial Services. 45 students of Banking attended the lecture. The objective of the guest lecture was to create awareness among the students about financial freedom and the importance of investing in the capital market.

Ms. Disha Morvekar, student of FY B.Com-A introduced the Resource Person. Mr. Jason started the session by explaining financial planning and the different types of investments. He laid emphasis on three facets of the investment decision, showed the importance of investing in long term plans and how the stock market grows. He also demonstrated his own investment plans and the benefits of compounding. The Resource Person explained in detail the pros and cons of investing in mutual funds. He urged students to start investing in Capital market with a minimum amount. He ended by asking students to start SIP or lump sum investments.

Mr. Franz Da Silva student of FY B.Com A, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The session was compered by Nivita Shirodkar, student of FY B.Com B. The guest lecture was coordinated by HoD, Dr. Lira Menezes Gama, Asst. Prof. Ms. Pretty Louiza Pereira, Asst. Prof. Shreyas Desai and Asst. Prof. Lizette D’Costa.
