The Department of Management organized a Guest lecture on the topic ‘Opportunities in the Mutual Fund Industry’ for the TY BBA(FS) students as a part of the course: Mutual Fund Management on 14th October 2022. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Prathamesh Pai Bir, Founder of P3 Investment Solutions. Asst. Prof. Anirudha Munj introduced the Resource Person for the day.
The Resource Person started the session by introducing the basic terminologies used in mutual funds. Mr. Bir then went on to explain the different types of fund classification and the suitability of these funds to individual investors’ needs and objectives.
He also explained creation of funds using international stocks and the risks involved in investing in these foreign funds. Mr. Bir then explained the different career opportunities in the mutual fund sector and the qualifications required for the various job descriptions.
Towards the end of the session Mr. Bir answered the queries raised by the students. It was an informative and enlightening session. Ms. Ciya D’Cruz, a student of TY BBA(FS) proposed the Vote of Thanks. 29 students attended the session. The teachers in charge of the session were Asst. Prof. Anirudha Munj and Asst. Prof. Abigale Rodrigues.
