On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Department of Computer Science organised an extension activity in Matruchhaya Balika Kalyan Ashram, Amrut Nagar, Margaofrom 11a.m to 1 p.m. As a part of this activity, a session on Digital Literacy and a speech competition was conducted for the girls of the Ashram.
The programme began with a talk on ‘Digital Literacy’ by Ms. Prachi Naik student of TY B.Voc.(ST). She informed students about procedure to apply for residence certificate and also how to use the Google Pay app. Further she informed the kids about the Digi Locker and its registration process. The session was very interactive. Girls of the Ashram enthusiastically participated in the speech competition organised specially for them. They spoke on Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to the society. The winners were given prizes.
The activity concluded with the distribution of stationery items and eatables. Ms. Rama Borkar and Ms. Nishigandha Naik Gaonkar were the Teachers in charge of the activity.
Dr. Edwin Barreto, Vice-Principal of the College and Ms. Sweta ShetVerenkar Faculty, Department of Computer Science graced the programme with their presence.
