Vasundhara (Green Club) of the College organized “Green Solutions”, a Green Product Creation Competition on 28th September 2022 at 12:15 p.m. in Hall 2 of the Central Block. A total of 78 participants across the B. Com, BBA and BCA programmes comprising 20 teams participated in the competition.
The participants were given 1 hour to create an eco-friendly or sustainable product by using non-toxic, sustainable or recycled materials which have a lower environmental impact than traditional materials. At the outset, Assistant Prof. Ms. Stesa Pereira explained the rules after which the competition commenced. This competition was an opportunity for students to create their own green products. A plethora of products including bio-enzymatic cleaners, acrylic paints, palm frond baskets, coconut shell planters, paper and cloth bags were created by the teams.
After creating the product, each team was given 5 minutes to present the product and explain its features to the judges. The judges for the competition were Assistant Prof. Dr. Sheetal Arondekar, Assistant Prof. Ms. Ashwini Devari and Assistant Prof. Ms. Francia Travasso. The products were judged based on eco-friendliness, type of material used, utility and overall presentation.
The first place was bagged by Ms. Zia Fernandes (TY B.Com-C) and Ms. Anusha Rodrigues (TY B.Com-B), Second place was bagged by Mr. Kewal Patel, Mr. Mithil Karekar, Mr. Sahil Sab, Mr. Sofiyan Shaikh and Mr. Ramkaran Rajbhar (SY B.Com B) and the third place was bagged by Ms. Esha Pai Fondekar and Ms. Aemisha Azavedo (TY B.Com B).
