The Placement Cell of the College in association with the Directorate of Higher Education and Tata Consultancy Services, organized an orientation session on the Youth Employment Program (YEP) on 12th September 2022. The Resource Person for the session was Ms. Shalabha Nair, Trainer, Tata Consultancy Services. The TY B.Com, BBA(FS) and B.Voc(ST) students who were interested in attending the session were asked to fill in a google form and attend the session. The session was attended by 54 students.
Dr. Edwin Barreto, Convener of the Placement Cell welcomed the Resource Person and the students to the session. Asst. Prof. Sheryl Sanches, member of the Placement Cell gave an overview about the YEP to the students. The Resource Person, Ms. Shulabha Nair, discussed about the YEP and explained that this program is a CSR activity of Tata Consultancy Services and the objective is to prepare students who are ready for the industry. The program has a duration of 100 hours and covers various areas such as arithmetic, logical reasoning, communication, soft skills, programming, interview skills, domain skills etc. The sessions will be conducted through a hybrid system of online and offline sessions. Students who complete the program will be awarded a certificate of participation and completion by TCS. Upon successful completion of the program, the students can: (a) apply for a TCS job through TCS TAG-enabled proctored test and (b) apply for job in TCS and other companies through TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT)
