Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

Staff Recreation Club organised Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the College on 7th September 2022 at 12.15 p.m. This programme was organised as a part of ‘Golden Jubilee Year’ of the College. Two off-stage events; Rangoli competition and Reel Making Competition were organised for the staff of the College.

Rangoli competition began from 12.15 p.m. onwards. The theme was ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’. The participants were required to put rangoli from flowers within an hour. The teaching and non-teaching staff members of the College enthusiastically participated in this competition. Creative designs were made using flowers, diyas and Ganesh idols by the participating teams. The teams comprised of two members in each team. Altogether 7 teams participated in this competition. Mr. Sarvesh Gawade and Mr. Gajanan Haldankar won the first prize, Dr. Sheetal Arondekar and Miss Ashwina Tari Volvoikar won the second prize and Dr. Maithili Naik and Miss. Marjina Shaikh won the third prize in this competition.

Reel Making competition was another offstage event organised as a part of this celebration. In this competition, the participants were required to make a short-clip/reel of Ganesh Celebration and submit it online. Altogether three staff members participated in this competition.

Apart from the off-staff event, a small on-stage programme was also organised. The programme began at 1.15 p.m. Ms. Preksha Chopdekar welcomed the staff members for the programme. Ms. Sushrusha Naik Khandekar conducted a small quiz on ‘Ganesh’ and asked various questions on the life of Lord Ganesh to the audience. Spot prizes were also declared in this programme followed by the prize distribution for the off-stage events in the hands of Principal, Prof. Prita D. Mallya, Vice Principal Dr. Rodney D’Silva, and Head Clerk Ms. Shruti Nayak. A ‘fugdi’ dance, was also held to depict Indian culture and Goan tradition. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members participated in this dance with great spirit and enthusiasm. The celebration ended with lunch for all the staff members.
