8th International Day of Yoga “Yoga For Humanity”

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2022, Department of Physical Education & Sports in collaboration with NSS Unit, NCC Navy Wing and Counseling Cell organized a yoga session for the staff and the students of the College at Multipurpose Hall.

The program began with Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar, College Director of Physical Education & Sports and Vice-Principal Dr. Rodney D’Silva addressing the gathering.

The program started with Prayer followed by Warm-up exercises, Asanas, Shuddhi Kriyas (Kapalbhati), Pranayama(Anulom Vilom & Brahmari), Meditation and in the end the Pledge.

The various asanas performed were as follows:

  • Tadasana
  • Trikonasana
  • Ardha Chakrasana
  • Vishram Asana
  • Paschimottanasana
  • Vakrasana
  • Makarasana
  • Bhujangasana
  • Salabhasana
  • Savasana
  • Pawanmuktasana
  • Ardha Halasana

The Demonstration session was led by Mr. Saurabh Raikar, Instructor in Physical Education and a few student volunteers and explanation of demonstration was given by Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar College Director of Physical Education & Sports.

51 individuals participated out of which 30 were female and 21 were male, 28 were staff and 23 were students of the college attended the program. The program started at 8:30  and ended at 9:40 a.m.
