Goa Revolution Day

IQAC in Association with NCC Army Wing Celebrated Goa Revolution Day on 18th June, 2022 from 8:30 to 9:30am in Smart Classroom. Dr. Shami Pai, IQAC Coordinator addressed the gathering, in her speech she expressed that 18th June has special significance for the people of Goa. It was on that day in the year 1946, the suppressed patriotic feelings of Goans had manifested into a mass revolution, which eventually saw the Liberation of this part of our country on 19th December, 1961. 18th June, we remember as the ‘Goa Revolution Day’. 70 staff members were present for the function.

The people of Goa under the leadership of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, stood united against the oppressive system of the colonial rule in Goa to fight for civil liberties.

On this occasion of Goa Revolution Day, Participants paid tribute to the sacrifice and valor of freedom fighters. A poem name ‘18th June’ by a Goa Writer Mr. Manohar Rai Sardessai was screened by Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar Asst. Professor Department of English. Lt. Sandesh Gaonkar screened a Short Film on Goa Revolution Day. Dr. Shami Pai proposed the Vote of thanks.
