‘Roadmap to promising Career in IT sector’

The Computer Science Department  organized webinar on “Road-map to promising Career in IT sector” through Google Meet platform on Thursday 17th June 2022 from 11.30am to 12.30pm for the Students who are interested to join IT sectors. The session was also live broadcasted on College YouTube channel.  70 participants attended the same.

The session commenced with an Welcome Address by the Vice-Principal, Dr. Rodney D’Silva, followed by Introducing the Resource Person by Mrs. Rama Borkar, Assistant Professor.

Mrs. Sangeeta Naik the Resource Person, is the Partner and Executive Editor Digital Goa. She congratulates all the students for passing their XII exams and for selecting Shree Damodar College, Margao to further their studies. Additionally, she is happy to see students narrowing down their career options to BCA and B.Voc in Software Technology.

While her interaction with students, she opined that the student should set a goal for their careers, such as what they want to achieve 3 years down the road, and work according to that.

In her presentation, she explores different career options within IT, such as two different aspects of a career.

1. Education based Career

2. Talent based Career.

Based on these two factors, students have to decide which alternative is the best for them. Students must perform a SWOT analysis when selecting alternative options. Students were encouraged to learn new concepts and technology to enhance their knowledge.

Later, she discusses the standard skill-sets students should possess. In addition, she explores future master program options for students like MCA, MSc, MCM, Master in Informative Management, Master In Computer Science, MBA.

She added, It is necessary for students to take different online courses in order to improve their skills. In her presentation she discussed the Goa IT industry with students.
The Webinar concluded with the Vote of Thanks presented by Webinar Co-Coordinator Mr. Andre Pacheco, Asst Professor Department of Computer Science and compared by Ms Rajlaxmi Nair Asst Professor Department of Computer Science.
