The Recreation Cell, Staff Secretary Ms Samiksha Vengurlekar and Dr. Shami Pai organized a fieldtrip to Savoi Spice Plantation on 04th June 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 19 staff members of B.Com, BCA and BBA(FS) programmes were a part of the field trip. The spice plantation, situated in the village of Savoi in Ponda is over 200 years old and covers an area of 100 acres. It consists of a purely organic and natural environment, where nature can be enjoyed at its best. On arriving at the plantation, the staff members were greeted with a welcome drink of Kokum and snacks. This was followed by an hour long tour of the plantation where different varieties of fruit and spice plants, their parts, usage as well as the art of spice farming were explained. After the tour, Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar, Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, Ms. Stesa Pereira and Ms. Sushrusha Naik Khandekar, Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar, organized a few games and spot prizes for the staff members. The games were followed by an authentic Goan lunch placed in a rustic setting with the spread comprising dishes like Goan red rice, curry, vegetable, seafood as well as local fruits. The experience was enjoyable, informative and enriching for all staff members
