A Mock NAAC Visit was held on 11th November, 2021, in the College premises from 8.30am to 5.30pm. This was first of its kind initiative of the IQAC Coordinator, Dr Shami Pai.
Following members constituted the team and conducted the Mock NAAC Visit:
- Dr Kishore Sukhtankar- Former Principal, Gogate Joglekar College, Ratnagiri.
- Dr Rajiv Sapre- Retired Faculty from Gogate, Joglekar College, Ratnagiri
- Dr I. Bhanu Murthy- Former Principal of the College.
Mock NAAC Visit Team reached the college premises at 8.45 am. They were received by the Principal, Prof Prita Mallya, IQAC Coordinator, Dr Shami Pai, NAAC Coordinator, Dr Rodney D’Silva, and the Reception Committee members.
The visit began with the presentations by the faculty members. The first presentation was done by the Principal Prof Prita Mallya. She gave a comprehensive picture of the entire College with reference to all the seven NAAC Criteria. The next presentation was by the IQAC Coordinator, Dr Shami Pai. She focused on the quality initiatives during the assessment period, and also on the action taken on the recommendations made during the third cycle of accreditation.
After a break the group led by, Dr Sukhtankar viewed the presentations in the Library Reading Room. These were the departmental presentations of Commerce & Management by Dr Shami Pai, Economics & Banking by Dr Lira M. Gama, Library & Information Science by Ms Manasi Rege, NSS/NCC by Mr Ainsly Bernard, Students Council/ Cultural Council by Ms Preksha Chopdekar, and Womens Cell by Ms Sheetal Arondekar.
Group led by Dr Sapre and Dr Bhanu Murthy continued their presentations in the meeting room. It started with B.Com presentation by Dr Edwin Baretto, Computer Science by Mr Sumit Kumar, BBA-FS by Ms Cinola Vaz, PG by Ms Seema Dharani, Sports by Mr Ajinkya Kudtarkar, Research Cell by Mr Sandesh Gaonkar.
After the presentations, the team met the Management Members. The meeting was attended by CA Uttam Bene and Mr Madhukar Mallya. The issues discussed were the future plans, welfare measures, incentives for the staff/students, etc.
After the lunch break, the team inspected the infrastructural facilities like Library, Sports Room, Butterfly Garden, Rainwater Harvesting Unit, Waste Management Unit, Laboratories, etc. Then, a meeting with the current students was arranged. The team interacted with the current students for around 15 to 20 minutes after which the team visited the office and interacted with the office staff. They also verified the office records.
Finally, the team visited the Record Room and checked the documents supporting the claim made in the SSR. They checked the documents at random and were happy with the documentation display.
The last item on the schedule was the Exit Meeting. The meeting began at 4.30 pm. The IQAC Coordinator, Dr Shami Pai welcomed everyone for the meeting. The team members gave their report in detail with the suggestions and recommendations for the actual visit scheduled on 25th and 26th November, 2021.
Lastly, Prof Prita Mallya, College Principal, presented a dry fruits basket and memento to the team members as a sign of gratitude and appreciation. Dr Rodney D’Silva, NAAC Coordinator proposed the Vote of Thanks. This visit proved to be of great help in planning and preparing for the final NAAC visit.
