The IQAC organised an Orientation on E-resources for the Teaching Staff of B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Voc and M.Com on 5th and 8th October 2021 from 2:00 to 3.30 pm in the Smart Classroom. The Resource Person for the session was Ms Manasi Rege, College Librarian. All the faculty members were shown the actual use of NLIST consortium, E- Journals such as Oxford Academic Journals, Annual Reviews, Economic and Political Weekly, Indian Journals, JSTORE, Oxford University Press, EBSCO (H.W. Wilson) Cambridge University Press.
E-books publisher’s platforms such as Cambridge books Online, E-brary (Proquest – E-books Central), Hindustan Books Agency, EBSCO Host Net Library, Institute of South East Asian Books, Oxford Scholarship, Springer e-books, Sage Publication e-books, Taylor Francis e-books, Myi Library McGraw Hill was covered in the session.
Faculty members were given some exercises in their respective subject areas to download, view books and journal articles.
Indiastat Database:
An awareness session on the use of Indiastat database was delivered by Mrs. Manasi D. Rege. It is a fine collection of Socio-economic statistical data which is necessary for teaching, Learning and for Research work.
How to use E-Resources on NDLI Portal – 8th October 2021
A video on How to use NDLI Portal was played. The speaker explained in detail the National Digital Library of India. All the faculty members were given hands on practice on the NDLI Portal.
Use and Awareness of Open Educational Resources and Tools for Teaching & Learning
A session on the “Use and Awareness of Open Educational Resources and Tools for Teaching & Learning, was also conducted. She explained Open educational Resources to the faculty members such as CORE, JURN, AGRICOLA, PROJECT GUTENBERG, ECONBIZ, DBLP, Paperity, NDLTD, DOAB, DOAJ, World Digital Library, NDLI, Shodhganga, PG-Pathshala. 60 teachers attended the sessions.
