Live Session on ‘Orientation on Mentoring’ for Teachers

The College has been conducting mentoring sessions for the teachers annually to discuss the concerns or matters that affect the students at the academic and at the personal level.  In the present pandemic situation, the environment at their homes may also not be conducive for learning, hence the institution needs to show more concern towards the students. Teachers as mentors can play a key role in reaching out to the students and making them mentally strong.

The Students Welfare Cell organised ‘Orientation on Mentoring’ for new teaching staff across all streams on 21stOctober 2021.  Ms. Amba Prabhu, the College Counsellor was the Resource Person for the sessions.

Ms. Amba covered the following matters of concern:

  1. How to guide the students in setting goals,
  2. Appreciate mentees for their small/big achievements
  3. Maintain confidentiality,
  4. Take interest in personal lives of the mentees whilst drawing a line,
  5. Influence the mentees in every possible way.

The sessions was attended by 17 teachers. Ms. Poorva Gude proposed the Vote of Thanks.
