Our College camp was organized at Fatorpa at Shree Shantadurga Devi Devasthan from 28th October 2014 to 3rd October 2014. The camp was attended by 50 NSS volunteers along with 6 NSS programme officers.
1st Day: 28th October 2014
NSS camp started with the Inaugural function which was organized by our NSS volunteers under the supervision of our Chief NSS Programme officer. The Chief guest for the function were Padhye Guruji and Kushali Dessai. The function was attended by Principal of our college Dr. (Mrs) Prita D. Mallya. After the inaugural program all the seven days work was divided among the students by dividing them into group of six.
2nd Day: 29th October 2014
Second day of the camp started with morning walk and assembly at 7 am. Next the students cleaned the surrounding campus of Shree Dattatreya temple from 10am to 11am by plucking weeds, plastic and other waste. Personality Development talk was conducted for the students by Mr. Mandar fatarpekar on topic Public Speaking where each and every student were asked to speak on any topic for 5 minutes to test their confidence level and other attributes. In the evening students were taken for a nature walk at Shree Vetal temple. The day ended with outdoor games followed by cultural program.
3rd Day: 30th October 2014
The day begain with a refreshing jogging followed by assembly done by a group of students. Indoor and outdoor cleaning was done by the NSS volunteers. Certain sessions were scheduled for the day: Talk on ‘Vector Borne’ diseases was delivered by Mrs. Vijaya Harlankar Chief Medical officer of Balli, A Talk on ‘Entrepreneurship Develpoment’ was also organized wherein Mr. Yuvraj Dessai was the Chief guest and Mr. Sayed was the Guest of Honour. Workshop on flower making was also undertaken for the students. The day ended with games and wonderful cultural program organized by the volunteers.
Day 4: 31st October 2014
Fourth day of the NSS special camp started with a morning walk and a resourceful assembly. Run for Unity programme was organized on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhai Patels Birth Anniversary from Fatorpa to Cottar, followed by campus cleaning of the surrounding temple area through active participation of the students. Talk on Communication skills, Time management & Career development was delivered by resource person Mr. Sameer Utagi. In the evening outdoor games were organized for the students followed by cultural program.
Day 5: 1st November 2014
Our day always started with morning walk and assembly. On this day students visited old aged home wherein they interacted with them through their love and care and conduvted a small cultural program for them. In the second half of the day a talk on ‘Stress Managemen’t was undertaken by a highly qualified, experienced resource person Dr. Venkatesh Hegde. After the session’ Paper dressing’ competition was organized groupwise for all the students which involved making creatively optimum utilization of the newspaper. End of the day was followed by different indoor games and cultural program.
Day 6: 2nd November 2014
The day begin with assembly and morning walk. NSS volunteers undertook campus cleaning and collecting of woods for camp fire. Following talks for the day were arranged for the students like talk on Services by Ma’am Nirmala Gopinathan, talk on ‘Survey training’ by Mr.Thomas Cardozo and Mr. A.G. Khanolkar. Cultural program was organized by the students for the villagers. The ended with a formal valedictory function followed by camp fire.
Day 7: 3rd November 2014
Last day of the camp began with morning walk and assembly, followed by indoor and outdoor campus cleaning of the camp site.
