The Life Skills Committee of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics organized an online session on ‘Critical Thinking as a Life Skill’ as part of a 30-Hour Certificate Course for First Year B.Com students, from 12:30 to 1:50 pm on May 12, 2021. The resource person for the session was Mr. Suhas M. Mallya, Executive Director at Emco Goa Pvt. Ltd and an ex-student of the College.
At the outset, Ms. Marjina Shaikh, Assistant Professor and Convenor of Life Skill Committee welcomed the resource person. Ms. Deepali Aukire, student from FY B.Com-A introduced Mr. Suhas Mallya
The session covered the following topics:
1. What is Critical Thinking?
2. Elements of Critical Thinking?
3. Distractions and Impediments to Critical Thinking
4. Fallacies Disguised as Critical Thinking
5. Benefits of Critical Thinking
Mr. Maxson Fernandes from FY B.Com-A proposed the Vote of Thanks, and the session was compered by Ms. Dasmi Naik from FY B.Com A. Overall, the session was very interesting and interactive. The 51 students who attended, participated enthusiastically throughout the session
Mr. Suhas Mallya had shared a Google form with students prior to the session, and the questions/cases in the form were discussed during the session.
