FDP on “Workplace Ethics & Professionalism and Social & Emotional Intelligence”

The Research Cell conducted a FDP on “Workplace Ethics & Professionalism and Social & Emotional Intelligence” in the Ganesh Daivajna Auditorium on 20th February, 2021 from 11.00 am to 1.15 pm. Principal, Prof. Prita Mallya gave the opening remarks. Dr. Lira Gama, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics, introduced the speaker Miss. Caroline Silva. Dr. Lira Gama (convener) and Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar (Member) were the teachers in charge for the same. 33 teachers attended the session.

The training was conducted in the form of a discourse and elaborated with the help of training activities, audio visuals and self-assessments. The trainer laid emphasis on the difference between IQ and EQ and the urgent need to have an equal balance of both in order to be successful in all spheres.

The aim of the training was to highlight the importance of developing high Emotional Intelligence levels and to focus on its effectiveness in our professional and personal life and relationships.

The second part of the session focused on the Path to Professionalism at the Workplace. In this section, speaker examined what professionalism looks like, how to demonstrate it, and the big dos and don’ts of being professional. Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The session concluded at 1.15 pm.
