Asst. Prof. Abhinay Pai of the BBA(Financial Services) Department, organized an online Guest Lecture titled ‘Awareness about Commodity Derivative Markets in India’ for Third Year BBA(FS) students on 07th December 2020 from 12.00 p.m. to 01.15 p.m. via Zoom Meet platform.
Mr. Shrikant Koundinya, Head, Training & Education Department of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (MCX) was the Resource Person. Mr. Shawn Menezes, student of TY BBA(FS) – A introduced the Resource Person. Mr. Shrikant elaborated upon the concept of trading in commodities as a derivative instrument, types of commodities traded, risk exposure, factors pertaining to the growth of commodities trade. He emphasized on the use of screen-based trading terminal and demonstrated the live trading method to participants with examples, to make the session informative and interesting. The objective of this lecture was to create awareness among students on Commodity Derivative trading as a part of an investment tool. At the end, Mr. Shrikant addressed the questions raised by teachers and students.
38 students of Third Year BBA(FS) from Division A & B attended the session. Asst. Prof. Abhinay Pai proposed the Vote of Thanks.
