Webinar on “MOOCs: Moving from Consumers to Producers”

Picture1The MOOCs Committee organized a Webinar on the topic “MOOCs: Moving from Consumers to Producers” from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on 4th December, 2020 using the Google Meet platform. The Resource Person for the Webinar was Mr. Ramrao Wagh, Principal, Goa College of Theatre Arts, Kala Academy. Principal Wagh began the session by giving inputs about MOOCs and the increasing demand for MOOCs during the pandemic – one third of the learners that ever registered on a MOOC platform joined in 2020. Looking at online teaching from the positive side, Mr. Ramrao said that now teachers are ready to participate in anything related to online teaching as they now embrace technology. Mr. Wagh mentioned the DHE initiative DISHTAVO, which is an online repository of UG/PG courses. He also mentioned the benefits of MOOCs for students and teachers in upgrading the required knowledge and skills. He suggested some good practices for the teacher to be a good MOOCs producer. Teachers can register on all MOOCs providers whether local or global and download the material and adopt it for blended and flipped learning.
