The Department of Management of the College conducted a certificate course on “Technical Analysis of Stocks” for TYBBA(FS) students. The Certificate course was conducted from 6th to 28th October 2022 from 2.30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 48 students attended and completed the certificate course. The objective was to give practical exposure to Stock Trading and Portfolio Creation. The Resource Person for the certificate course was Mr. Mahadev Gadekar, Proprietor, Aarna Financial Services, who has worked with HDFC Bank for 6 years. He started his own venture “Aarna Financial Services” which offers services related to investing in stocks and mutual funds, risk planning, financial planning, loans and actively involved in educating the youth in the subjects of investing and money management.
The syllabus for the certificate course was divided into 08 Modules. The topics covered were introduction about Technical Analysis, charting software, Reading and interpretation of charts, Trading strategies, Indicators and Oscillators, Trading Psychology and Risk Management. Investor Psychology in Stock was also covered under one Module. Students were shown Live Trading sessions along with creation of market stations, margin management, application of stop loss and balancing of greed and fear in the stock market trading.
Students were asked to create dummy accounts for practice. Students created portfolio of stocks using Dalal Street Journal Application. The record of Buy and Sell transaction was maintained in excel workbook on daily basis. Every student had to select the stocks for Investment using technical Analysis.
The students actively participated and created dummy portfolios which gave them the practical exposure to the world of Technical Analysis. The Resource Person also took the feedback of the students at the end of the course, which was largely positive. The teachers in charge for the course were Ms. Snehal Alve and Ms. Ashwini Devari
