30 Hours Certificate Course: ‘Foundations of Digital Marketing’

The Postgraduate Department of Commerce conducted a 30-hour certificate course, “Foundations of Digital Marketing,” for M.Com students from 14th January 2023 to 20th March 2023. The training sessions took place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The primary objective of the course was to equip students with digital marketing skills, enabling them to apply their knowledge in practical settings, including starting their own businesses. The training sessions were delivered by Mr. Mohsin Shaikh, CEO and Founder of Haztech.

The practical training covered in the course was based on the following topics:

  • Making of logo and poster on Canva and a page on Instagram and Facebook and creating a Sostac report.
  • Google My Business
  • Facebook Page
  • Google Website (Free)
  • Paid Campaigns
  • Google Ads
  • Posting on Pinterest to market one’s business
  • Web Development
  • Email Marketing
  • Google Analytics -To create an account, https://www.google.com/analytics/
  • Off-Page Optimization – 2 types of SEO – on-page SEO and off-page SEO.

The students learned to create an Instagram page for their business as well as to market their business through such a platform. Throughout the course, Mr. Mohsin encouraged students to ask questions and clear their doubts related to various aspects of digital marketing.

On 3rd April 2023, Mr. Mohsin conducted a 50-mark test based on the course content. 71 M.Com students completed the 30-hour certificate course.
